Snug community café

We started Snug mid-February 2025, with a plan to provide a warm space on a Wednesday morning (when the library is closed) for 7 weeks. By the end of March we’d built a lovely community of regulars and we just had to keep it going - so we have! While most of our clients range in age from 50’s to 90’s, there is no target age group - anyone who values a bit of extra company, or someone to listen to them, is welcome.

We have chat, drinks, biscuits and often cake, because we like to celebrate our regulars’ birthdays. Games and jigsaw puzzles are on hand for those that fancy some activity.

We sometimes help out with signposting clients to organisations who can help them with issues, and we’re happy to help where lack of digital access is a barrier.

Everything at Snug is always free - we’re currently sponsored by the National Lottery Community Fund.
